Off for the Final Days of Summer
Writing time turned into back-to-school shopping, and I'm fine with that.
It’s late August and that means parents are making sure their kids are ready and feeling good about heading back to school. This week, my wife and I spent a full day teaming up and making sure our kids were taken care of with back-to-school clothes and supplies. Jess took our son, Jameson, and I took our daughter, Ali.
We each had great days with quality parent/kid time and now everyone is ready for the first day of school to roll around. This is a big year, as our daughter is in her final year of high school and our son will be getting his driver’s license. There are many last times ahead, but there are also many first times as well. I choose to look at the firsts that lie ahead, which I think is a great way to stay positive and excited as Jess and I watch our kids grow up and move forward in their lives.
I know this newsletter is all about training and nutrition, but I wanted to make sure you knew why I wasn’t delivering an article this week. It’s not a holiday, a birthday, or anything like that. It’s because there are just times when putting work aside is the right decision. This was one of those times.
On that note, I still want to share a very important thought that is helping me feel better about not writing this week. I wrote it this morning on my FB page:
Now I’m going to add one more line to tie in what I said above about me feeling better:
Do you write a weekly article most of the time, but have weeks where it just doesn’t work out? Your newsletter still looks like you write every week.
Thanks for reading!
